Gusto: it’s a must!

There’s a terrific exhibition on now at the State Library.  It called Gusto: A Culinary History of Victoria and runs through to April 28 next year.  If you have any interest in food and food culture it’s well worth a look.

There’s a whole host of material gathered from the library’s collection and covers indigenous food history, sustainable food practices, the history of cafes and fine dining, and much more.  What’s most interesting to me are the stories of those who have played a key role in the development of Melbourne’s culinary culture: people like Jacques Reymond, Rita Erlich, Guy Grossi and Stephanie Alexander.

The video interviews are gold!
